FAQ

What is Fair Trade & why is it important?

Fair Trade Certified products positively impact the lives of over one million Fair Trade farmers and their families, in 58 countries across the globe. Fair Trade raises the standards of living for these families and offers a comprehensive development of their communities.  It offers true change, not just charity.

Fairly traded products affect millions of producers providing them with more resources and control over their lives. Support of Fair Trade lifts others up while respecting nature and the environment.

Printing on Fair Trade garments is a simple way we can make a positive difference in the world.  And that feels good.

Why are we so excited about organic cotton?

Our favourite items of clothing, the ones we wear close to our skin every day, are made from cotton.  We love cotton because it is incredibly soft, durable, breathable and hypoallergenic. However we understand that non-organic cotton's impact on the environment is huge.  According to our research, non-organic cotton consumes a disturbing 25% of insecticides and 10% of pesticides used throughout the world!  Quite simply, we don't want to be a part of that.

Our organic cotton tees and hoodies are made with respect for people, nature and the environment.  We have taken our time to source certified organic cotton as well as other fabrics made from sustainable materials, such as Modal, Tencel, linen & wool.  By using recycled polyester we are also part of the reuse cycle.

We are proud of our decision to use organic, sustainable materials and believe that the 'feel good factor' that comes with this choice makes our tees feel even softer.

How do I select the correct size?

We are all different.  Some of us like our clothes tight, while others prefer a looser fit.  To make sure your inkpi tee/hoodie fits you just the way you like it please refer to our size chart (available on every product page).  We strongly recommend pulling out your favourite tee or hoodie, measuring it and selecting the size that comes closest to that.  We have also included a UK size chart comparison for our tees, to help you get it right!

Important - Don't presume you are the same size across all inkpi products.  A medium sized tee will not fit you in the same way a medium hoodie does!  Measure twice, order once. :)

How do I care for my inkpi tank, tee or hoodie?

Inkpi uses environmentally friendly, water based inks when screen printing our organic tanks, tees and hoodies.   This process creates our signature soft touch vintage print which is designed to gently soften over time.  Provided you follow these care instructions your inkpi garment will stand the test of time.  I should know, my 'Anna' hoodies have been on constant rotation in my washing basket since August 2016...!

  • Wash garment inside out (this protects the print & makes the garment feel softer)
  • Use a light machine setting or hand wash (rough treatment can affect the print)
  • Use cold water only
  • No concentrates or heavy detergents
  • Do not dry clean or iron (heat may affect the print)
  • Do not tumble dry (your garment may shrink)
  • Line dry inside out in the shade

Do you ship around the world?

At this stage we send orders all around Australia and to the UK.  If you happen to live in another part of the world and really want to place an order, please shoot us an email at inkpi@outlook.com and we will work out how to make it happen.

Is it possible to collect my order in person?

Yes.  The Mabel in Mitcham, Victoria currently stocks a selection of wristbands, tees and hoodies, so you are welcome to pop in and pick something up from there.  Alternatively, you can order online and collect your order from 'Beautiful Room' at Eastland (Ringwood, Victoria).  Simply select Pickup@TheMabel or Pickup@BeautifulRoom as you check out.  Important: Please allow 24 hours for local pickup, you will be notified when your order is ready for collection.

How long will it take to get my order?

All 'add to cart' items will be dispatched via Australia Post using an Express Post Parcel.  If you live within the express post network (which 80% of us do) you can expect to receive your order (excluding Pre-orders) within 1 - 2 business days.  For everyone else, you will just have to wait a bit longer - usually only a day, or two at most.

Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for all 'Pre-orders' as they are manufactured and printed from scratch.

Please note: To keep costs down we post wristbands via regular post.

When can I expect to receive my Pre-order?

A pre-order is an order placed for a product which has not yet been released or is currently out of stock.  Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for all 'Pre-orders' as they are manufactured and printed from scratch.  We will let you know via email as soon as your pre-order is on its way.

Does inkpi support other causes?

At this stage we support Kiss Goodbye to MS and beyondblue, but we have plenty of designs floating around in our head that will hopefully make their way to the printing press soon.

Do you sell tees & hoodies for men?

We launched inkpi.org with one design, 'Anna', in support of my sister's diagnosis and journey to halt MS.  But this is just the beginning... With your support we look forward to releasing other designs and products, including tees and hoodies for men soon.
